Images of the West Pier. The original structure was built in 1866 and many additional features were added over the next 50 years, including a bandstand in 1875, a pavilion in 1893 (which can still be seen today) and a concert hall in 1916. The pier was destroyed by a storm in 2002 and two fires in 2003.
