Description (Object or Artwork): | HA281998 Mummified cat. Body wound tightly into a cylindrical shape, the head is modeled with two upright ears with black and red painted features on the face. It is wound such that there is a strip between the ears on which is painted black and red linear decoration. The body is wound with very thin strips of fine linen, some of which have come loose towards the base, there is also string around the neck. Bandages are now largely discoloured and orange-brown. There is dark brown discolouration on the ears and also small patches of dark brown material visible between the linen strips. |
