Monochrome postcard showing Indian soldiers recuperating in the Corn Exchange, Brighton. Taken during First World War when Royal Pavilion estate used as a hospital for wounded Indian troops. Three dignitaries and several officers can be seen inspecting the wounded. Bottom of the card reads: Official Photograph, (Copyright), issued by the Corporation of Brighton with the assistance of the Military Authorities. 1. Corn Exchange. A. H. Photo, Brighton This photograph has the same title and depicts the same location as BH411220, HA902552 but is taken from a slightly different position and shows different wounded soldiers in the beds.
