Description: Burma image, WAA0162. [Two Hkahku Kachin men.] (Researcher's notes in brackets)
"Every Hkahku man carries a dah [sword]. The type of dah is peculiar to the Hkahkus and to all tribes of the Upper Nmai basin, north of the Lashis and excepting the Lisus. Unlike the Naga dah the Hkahku dah cutting edge is straight with the handle. A similar dah is used by the women, but is always carried without the scabbard and is sometimes placed in their back-basket." [dissertation, 1934:142]
